sheer perfection than the knowledge of basic golf terminology. However,
if you are a beginner, than there are a good number of things to learn
about golf and you might find it quite difficult to figure it all out.
Therefore, as a healthy tip to follow, you must have a careful look at
the below mentioned points in order to enhance your circle of knowledge.
One of the most important things that you need to learn as a beginner
is the various types of games. If you are out in the court and someone
asks you for a game, then you surely don't want to get embarrassed
because of your lack of knowledge. So, here are some standard games
played in golf.
Stroke Play
In this game,
every player hits his/her own ball and counts every attempt as stroke.
At the end of the game, all the strokes are totaled and the person with
the lowest total is declared winner.
Match Play
In
this type of game, the players can play in a team of 2 to 4 or
individually. In the match, the players hit their own ball with the aim
of winning the hole. At the end of the game, the player with maximum
number of holes won wins the game.
Best Ball
In
the best ball golf game, a group of 2-4 players is formed. The players
enjoy the game by playing against each other. This is one of the most
popular games used to teach toddlers how to play golf. Once the hole is
won, the team will make use of the score who has played the best game at
that hole. If there is a team of 4 players, then you probably stand 4
chances of getting the best score for the team.
Scramble
It
is yet another popular golf game played by the enthusiasts. It is
usually played in a group of 2-4 people, who play against each other.
Each player in the team is required to tee off and then it will be
decided as to which player had the best ball and will be playing the
next stroke. The main aim of this game is to get the least possible
strokes at the end in order to win the match.
